We are very proud of our staff and we hope that you will be pleasantly impressed by their friendliness and professionalism.
When
calling our offices, you will most likely speak to Yami or Lily in the
North Miami Beach office and Allison or LilY in the Fort Lauderdale
office. They will help you find convenient appointment times with the
doctor of your choice and will be happy to assist you in anyway
necessary.
For billing matters, you will be assisted by Carmen,
our billing manager. She is extremely knowledgeable in all billing and
insurance matters. If you have any other questions or concerns, you can
contact our office manager Janet and she will be very happy to resolve
any issues.
Since 10/1/2003, we no longer bill directly from our
offices. All billing is handled by Avisena, a professional medical
billing company. They can be reached at 786-621-3900 or 305-893-8771 or
the toll free number 1-888-553-8333. Our Account Manager is Lina
Martinez and can be reached at 786-621-4400.
Simone & Diana
make up our ophthalmic technical staff. They are highly trained
ophthalmic technicians and are essential to helping our physicians in
caring for you in our offices. Our technical staff helps us to provide
the most efficient and effective care to you and your family. Simone
and Diana will also assist with any surgery scheduling matters.
Our
Optometric Externs rotate through both our offices every 3 to 5 months.
They come to us from Nova Southeastern University, Pennsylvania College
of Optometry and the New England College of Optometry during their
fourth year of training. They are uniformly some of the finest students
in their schools and help us deliver the very best eye care. They also
keep us stimulated to teach and to stay current with all the latest
development and technological advances.
Our Bookkeeper is Ms. Harriette Colb. She can be reached in the Fort Lauderdale office.

Outpatient Surgery Instructions
Procedure Description: Outpatient Surgery
What To Expect: Adults Undergoing Outpatient(Ambulatory) Surgery
Plan Ahead! By
following the instructions below, you can reduce your own stress, avoid
having to reschedule your surgery and make your experience as positive
as possible.
Preprocedure: If
your surgery is scheduled in the morning, do not eat or drink anything
after midnight the day before surgery. That includes water! If the
surgery is scheduled after 12 noon, call your surgeon for specific
instructions about what you may or may not eat or drink.
If you
routinely take medications in the morning (especially blood pressure
medication), take these with a sip of water early the morning of
surgery. If you are a diabetic, consult with your doctor about your
insulin dosage or other diabetic medication.
Do not take any
blood thinning or anti-inflammatory medications, including aspirin. If
you are on Coumadin, call your doctor to see when you should stop
taking the medication. Bring a complete list of your medications and
the dosages you take.
If you are being treated for any other
medical condition, please call your medical doctor or primary care
physician to obtain specific instructions as to what you should do
before surgery.
Plan to have someone drive you home following surgery.
Postprocedure: You'll
be taken to the recovery room. In order to provide safety and privacy
for all our patients, we will allow only one adult visitor per adult
patient in the Recovery Room. When the medical staff says everything is
ok, then you will be released to an adult who can drive you home. The
person who drives you home is also the person who will get any
instructions ? orally and in writing ? from the medical staff. Be sure
to follow those instructions completely.
You will return the next day to your surgeon's office. Please make sure and bring all your drops and instructions with you.
